Yoga Improvisational Theatre Workshop
When: 18-19 August, 2007
Where: Mountainyoga's Fragrant Hill and Buddhist Temple Centre
by Hope Weiner, a long time yoga practionera and teacher
Introduction
One of the primary aims of a regular Yoga practice is to prepare ourselves to approach our daily life with the same flexibility and grace that we strive for on the mat. It is the hope that we will rely on the discipline and skills which we develop on the mat to sustain a difficult pose when we find ourselves in a difficult situation in life.
Improvisational theatre, is a style of theatre that demands its participants to live in the moment and to live each moment to its maximum potential, like a yoga practice the outcome can be a tremendous release of joy and laughter or can touch upon something that has long remain buried.
The aim of this workshop is to have a lot of fun providing an opportunity for workshop participants to stretch their bodies and their imagination!
About the Teacher

As
a battered old war horse I have seen my fair share of adversity, and through
that have developed what I hope is a tremendous amount of compassion and patience. Some also think I am pretty funny too! but hey
looks aren't everything... My hope is that through my teaching my students
are left feeling uplifted and a little braver. "
Since
the age of four when Hope had her first dance class at New York's 92nd Street
Y, where every great modern dancer and choreographer choreographed, performed
or taught, Hope has had the privilege of studying and working with some of the most influential artists and dancers
in contemporary american theatre including her older brother Randy co-creator
of New York City's famous "The Donkey Show."
Hope's plays have
been produced, and she herself has performed in numerous dance pieces
and plays both in New York City and with well established regional theatres
in the U.S. Most recently she was a contributing writer to a night of performance pieces performed in Beijing.
Hope began studying
yoga in Beijing and enjoys trying classes around the world in all
types of other languages she can't understand.
