The workshop will cover a brief description of the origin of dance according to Indian mythology, yogic description of the cosmic dances and Lord of Dance - Nataraja. It will then be followed by a brief description on the characteristics of the dance and its connection to Yoga. The lecture will then be followed by a live demonstration of Cosmic Dance.
about Master Rajendra Nyathi
Master Rajendra Nyathi was born in a traditional family of artists. Made his stage debut at the age of 10. He obtained his six year Diploma Certificate in the Indian Classical Dance art in Bharatanatyam at very young age. He exceled the art by obtaning a First Class professional Master Degree in Performing Arts and he was awarded a Junior Research Fellowship Program by the Government of India, perfecting his knowledge and technique in the art.
Apart from being a choreographer and performer, he has also been a lecturer/Head of the Department for various Universities and Colleges in India.
He has performed and delivered lecture demonstrations in Germany, Austria, Italy, Holland, Switzerland, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan and New Zealand. Lately, he has been conducting Cosmic Dance classes, workshops, lecture demonstrations, training classes, crash course etc in Nattuvangam, Classical, Folk, Tribal, Creative, Bollywood dance ensembles in various Yoga Centres, Yoga Retreats and Institutions.
His dances connect yoga and dance as an art and the scientific forms express the beauty and the bliss in the ecstasy through the body. His dance is full of the vibration, joy, bliss, grace, power and pure passion and opens the deepest tear-wells.
